The beautiful untamed stretch of land in Kwazulu Natal stretches all the way from Lake St Lucia to Kosi Bay basically bordering Mozambique. The area includes the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, the oldest park in Africa, and was named after the African Elephants that lived here for centuries. The breathtaking beauty of the area includes the largest protected wetland in Southern Africa, coastal forests, grasslands, coral reefs and magnificent beaches. Between November and January groups of loggerheads and leatherback turtles come to lay their eggs in the dunes. In Kosi Bay and Sodwana Bay night time turtle tracking tours can be done.
