Hlathikhulu is one of the oldest town within the Shiselweni region of Swaziland. The town is well known as a trading centre. It is situated on a hill overlooking the spectacular landscape and towns in the surrounding vicinity. The town was well developed around the early 1990s and canopy trees on streets and in parks were grown and to date they still makes great shade. The town is still developing and managed by a board but there is no municipality to offer services and facilities. The town however has a growing commercial area and roads need improvement as there is increase in use and demands by the ever increasing population especially in the residential areas.
