Alexandria is located in Egypt. It is the second largest city and is also known as 'The Pearl of the Mediterranean'; it distances it from the rest of the country as its atmosphere is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern although it is only 225 km from Cairo. The city was founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC.
