Komatipoort town is situated at the confluence of Komati and Crocodile rivers in the Mpumalanga province, South Africa. The word Komati originated from a Swazi word 'Nkhomati' which means rivers of cows. The town is situated 11 km from the Crocodile Bridge entrance to the Kruger National park and just 3km from Lebombo Border Post, gateway to Mozambique. This is a small, quiet town with beautiful tree lined streets. This is also one of the hottest towns in South Africa, where the temperatures can reach up to 48 degrees Celsius in summer. The winter climate is around 24 degrees Celsius. (Updated Feb-13).
