Malealea town consists out of 10 small villages, approximately 500 people in total, centralised around the Malealea Tourist Lodge which offers entertainment, accommodation and activities. The locals offers guiding for hiking, village tours, horse riding and music to visitors at the lodge. The Malealea Community Choir sings at the Lodge every night, as well as the local band who construct their own instruments from recycled material.
