Moolmanshoek is a private nature reserve of 3 500 hectares private mountain reserve in the Witteberg Mountains and is part of the Korannaberg region. Strict environmental practices are enforced, making this a very eco-friendly destination. A National Heritage Site, Moolmanshoek offers three challenging trails - Langesnek, Visierskerf/Kloof, Kiepersol Garden. The first route is the Visierskerf / Kloof trail is 20 km and takes 4 to 5 hours. Prepare for the extremely steep descent, leading back to the flatter areas. Passing under the Witteberg sandstone overhang, the track enters an area that was first explored in 1992. The second route is the Langesnek Route it is 10 km and takes 2 to 3 hours, the Langesnek trail starts off by traversing a wetland area, over rock plates and then a short, steep, rough climb to the plateau, where panoramic views of the surrounding mountains can be seen. It requires more technical, requiring off-road skills and low range. The last route is the Kiepersol Garden it is 8 km and takes 2 to 3 hour. Tracks over sandstone plates lead to the ‘Kiepersol Garden’, on a route that is arduous for both vehicle and driver. It's the best for game-viewing and is a bird-watcher's paradise. Some of the adventurous activities includes fishing, abseiling, hiking, horse - riding, mountain biking, a high-ropes course, meerkat experience and game viewing.
