Rosendal is a small farming town about 180 km north-east of Bloemfontein in the Free State province of South Africa It was founded in 1908 and declared a municipality in 1914. It is a beautiful little 'dorp' in a valley surrounded by the Witteberge mountains (part of the Drakensberg Range) It lies near the Lesotho border on the Southern extremity of the 'Riemland' and is an ideal base for day trips to Katse Dam and many small towns in the Eastern Free State.
