Gouritsmond is located in the Hessequa region, along the Garden Route in the Western Cape province, situated close to Still Bay and Albertinia. The town’s economy is well supported by agricultural activities (farming with sheep, cattle and wheat) and tourism. The town has good infrastructure and offers a supermarket, restaurants, accommodation establishments, ATM and tidal pool for kids’ entertainment. The seasonal Blue Flag status beach has become increasingly popular with holidaymakers and offer safe bathing experience, with many popular fishing sports further along the coast. The town is famous for its unique fynbos with three different walks through the Gourits Commonage where people can observe the indigenous flora and also the increasingly popular bird life.
