De Doorns is a small town in the picturesque Hex River Valley, about 1hr30min drive from Cape Town on the N1. The valley is nestled between the mountains, which is covered in snow during winter, and is the biggest producer and exporter of Table Grapes in South Africa. During autumn months the vineyards turn from green to different shades of brown and orange creating a patchwork effect that is truly stunning. Harvest season runs from January until mid-April, and comes to an end with the annual Autumn Splendour Festival. Experience small town hospitality and enjoy one of the many activities offered including mountain biking, hiking, and a train ride on the Hexpas Express.
