Road tolls in Zimbabwe were introduced in 2009, levied on persons driving specified vehicles on city to city trunk roads networks. Umguza toll gate is situated 18km from Bulawayo along the the Bulawayo to Victoria Falls Road, before Nyamandlovhu Turn off. According to Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (ZINARA) with effect from July 2014 : Light Motor vehicles(Gross mass does not exceed 3 tonnes)-USD2.00 ; Minibuses (Carriage vehicles for no less than 8 passengers but not more than 24 passengers)- USD3.00; Buses (Carriage vehicles with seats for more than 24 passengers) - USD4.00; Heavy Vehicles (Goods vehicles with carrying capacity of more than 3 tonnes but less than 10 tonnes) - USD5.00 and Haulage Trucks(Goods vehicles with more than 10 tonnes carrying capacity)- USD10.00. Government vehicles are not exempted from paying tollgates while diplomatic and fire brigade vehicles and ambulances are exempted from paying toll fees. Though ZINARA is in charge of the construction of toll roads and subsequently their administration, currently ZIMRA is in charge of collection and administration of the toll fees for all the toll gates. Therefore for more information the travellers are free to contact the nearby ZIMRA offices for toll fees enquiry and information. (Updated Jul-14).
