Tzaneen dam (formerly Fanie Botha dam) is located in the Great Letaba river 10km North of Tzaneen in the northern Lowveld of South Africa. It has a capacity of 156 million cubic metres. The Tzaneen Dam and the Middle Letaba Dam are the two largest dams in Limpopo. The dam is in a popular birding area with more than 300 listed bird species It is also a popular angling venue but watch out for hippos.
