Formerly known as 'Pienaars Rivier Dam' since 1956 when it was constructed. The dam has a capacity of 42 million cubic meters, a height of 55 meters, length of 352 meters and the walls are well constructed to withstand any major spill offs, made of concrete and arch shaped. There is a routine site situated at the dam wall of the Department of Water Affairs' Resource Quality Services directorate.
